Description

Introducing The Tarka, a truly mesmerizing piece of art that reinterprets traditional Moroccan weaving with a contemporary edge. Hand-knotted by our cooperative of Amazigh weavers in the Atlas Mountains, this rug is a magnificent, soft, and durable statement piece.

The design features a bold, abstract geometric line pattern woven over a field of luxuriant, high-pile shag. What sets The Tarka apart is its dramatic color palette: a rich, uniform deep indigo blue at the top that beautifully fades into a lighter blue ombre effect at the base. This rug is a perfect anchor for modern, coastal, or contemporary bohemian spaces.

Craftsmanship & Cooperative Heritage: Woven by Our Hands

The creation of The Tarka is managed entirely by our weaving cooperative. Every stage, from the shearing of the wool to the final finishing, is performed entirely by our skilled members, ensuring quality, authenticity, and ethical production:

  • Wool Preparation: Made from 100% natural, locally sourced wool, hand-carded, and spun into strong yarn.

  • Natural Dyeing: The intense deep blue is achieved through meticulous small-batch dyeing, including the careful fading necessary to create the seamless ombre effect.

  • Hand-Knotting: Utilizing the time-honored Berber knot technique, every knot is tied by hand, creating the unique, high-pile shag and laying down the striking geometric lines.
