History:
In Morocco, weaving is a long-standing tradition that has been passed down through the generations. The country is known for its intricate weaves and stunning rugs production. The first evidence of weaving in Morocco dates back to the Berber Tribes, which was active from 3000 BCE.
It probably comes as no surprise that rug weaving was born out of a practical need to cover floors, especially for Berber nomads. The rug would act as protection against cold, damp conditions. However, what began as a necessity evolved into a respected skill and craft.
