Description

Introduce a bold and vibrant piece of Moroccan heritage with SERIF, an authentic Hand-Knotted Berber Rug. This masterpiece blends traditional quality with a striking contemporary design, featuring a trendy checkerboard pattern that instantly anchors any room. Woven by hand from 100% natural wool, SERIF is more than a rug—it is a cozy, yet energetic statement of style and tradition.

Key Features

  • Iconic Pattern: Features a dramatic checkerboard design—a modern classic that references the striking tile work found in traditional Moroccan architecture (riads).

  • Vibrant Color Palette: The bold contrast of Natural Beige/Cream and Deep Terracotta Red (or Brick Red) provides warmth and a chic, bohemian aesthetic. The color Red often symbolizes power and protection in Berber culture.

  • Authentic Craftsmanship: Hand-knotted by skilled Berber women artisans in the Atlas Mountains, this rug is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece, carrying the spirit of ancestral techniques.

  • Premium Natural Wool: Made from 100% natural sheep wool, the texture is thick, soft, and plush. Wool is naturally resilient, fire-retardant, and insulating, ensuring superior comfort and durability.

  • Symbolic Meaning: The Barley symbol (the checkered pattern itself) is believed to represent fertility, abundance, and the perfect balance between opposites—making this rug a thoughtful addition to your home.

Why SERIF is the Perfect Choice

SERIF effortlessly bridges the gap between vintage Moroccan charm and modern interior trends. The durable, thick weave is ideal for defining high-traffic areas like the living room and dining room, while its softness makes it perfect for cozy spaces like a bedroom or reading nook. By purchasing this rug, you are supporting ethical, handmade artistry and bringing home a timeless piece that holds both history and powerful symbolism.
