Description

This exquisite, hand-knotted Beni Ourain rug is an authentic masterpiece, handcrafted in our own workshop nestled in the Atlas Mountains. By overseeing the process directly in the heart of the weaving tradition, we ensure that every strand of wool meets the highest standards of artisanal quality.

In honor of its birthplace and unique character, this piece is named: “The Atlas Meridian.”

Artisan Craftsmanship & Origin

Unlike mass-produced textiles, The Atlas Meridian is born from the heritage of the Berber tribes. Every knot is tied by hand using traditional techniques passed down through generations in our Atlas Mountain workshop.

  • Material: 100% premium, high-altitude sheep’s wool. The wool is left in its natural state, retaining the organic lanolin that provides a soft sheen and natural stain resistance.

  • The Workshop Process: From the initial hand-spinning of the yarn to the final wash and sun-drying in the mountain air, this rug represents a direct link between the weaver and your home.

Design & Aesthetics

  • The “Crenellated” Border: The rug features a bold, rhythmic double-checkered frame. This deep tobacco-brown pattern acts as a visual anchor, contrasting beautifully against the luminous cream field.

  • Minimalist Center: The vast, open ivory center allows the natural texture of the wool to take center stage, offering a calm, meditative space that suits contemporary interiors.

  • Finishing Touches: One end features the traditional hand-braided fringe, a signature of authentic Atlas weaving that adds a touch of rustic charm.
